Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
Most of the injuries linked to roof wasp nests come from the climb, not the sting. This guide explains why the job belongs on the ground for you and on the ladder for a professional.
August is when a nest reaches its full strength, and understanding what that means in numbers, behaviour and risk helps you decide how to deal with it.
Treating the nest is only half the job: closing the gap afterwards is what stops a new queen moving into the same warm, dark cavity next spring.
A wasp nest at the roof edge is not a do-it-yourself job; this article explains what to do from the ground and why a ladder is the riskiest option.
If summer gatherings are on the calendar, a wasp nest found in spring can be treated well ahead of the first barbecue instead of spoiling it.
