Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
The treatment price does not rise as the season goes on, but the cost of waiting is real: a growing colony, more stings and a nest in your way.
A wasp nest discovered mid-workday does not have to wreck your schedule: this guide covers the call, the wait and the visit for people working at home.
For a nest in the roof space, the hatch is the barrier between you and the colony, so how you treat it in the first hours matters more than anything else.
Smoke, boiling water, flammable liquids and DIY traps all circulate as free fixes, but each one adds risk of burns, fire or stings without removing the colony.
Worn mortar joints are an open invitation to nesting queens, and a small crack in the pointing can lead to a large colony behind the brickwork.
