Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
You cannot always stop a nest, but you can make a property less attractive to foraging wasps. The treatment price is a fixed £120 if one forms.
A treated nest is not reused, but a loft that suited one colony may suit another, so the sensible plan is to watch for early signs next spring.
Ten minutes a week from late April through summer catches early signs of a nest, so you deal with a small problem rather than a large one.
A pub that welcomes walkers and cyclists has benches, bike racks and a car park, all places where a wasp nest can go unnoticed until someone sits down next to it.
Trees and thick hedges hide nests well, so careful checking before pruning, cutting or climbing is the best protection against a nasty surprise.
