Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
A few minutes of preparation make a loft nest visit quicker and calmer. Here is a plain checklist for the day, from the hatch to the paperwork.
The year of a wasp nest follows a pattern, and a landlord or manager who knows it can catch a nest in May instead of dealing with a crisis in August.
Once the nest has been dealt with, a few sensible steps keep the household safe while you return to normal, and the technician can answer your questions.
Dogs sniff, cats pounce and rabbits sit in the open, so a wasp nest affects pets in ways that people do not always think about.
Places that nobody visits, from a spare room to a closed-up outbuilding, are where a nest can grow quietly until it is large, so a regular check helps.
