Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
Unlike a private garden, a workplace has staff, visitors and deliveries to protect, and the wasp calendar tells you when to inspect, brief and book.
A floor plan, a pen and a few days of notes can point to the likely spot, so the technician starts in the right place.
For anyone who cannot move quickly or climb safely, the best approach to a suspected nest is to watch from indoors, ask for help and avoid any risk of a fall.
The nest is treated, the technician has gone, and you are wondering when it is safe to pick up the trimmer, so here is how to ease back.
Wasps can only nest in a roof edge if there is a way in, and softened, split or rotting timber is one of the easiest openings for them to find or enlarge.
