Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
If a tenant is out all day, the hardest part of a wasp job is often not the nest but getting the technician to it.
People who work outdoors or on larger premises are more likely to disturb a hidden nest, so staff awareness and a quick reporting habit are worth having.
Timber fences and posts age quietly, and the hollows that develop in them are among the easiest places for a queen to start a nest without anyone noticing.
Windbreak shrubs and dense planting give wasps shelter on the Hoo Peninsula as anywhere else, and a nest in them is hard to spot from the house.
Outbuildings, sheds and boat or tool stores that are rarely opened are quiet places where a nest can start, and spring checks catch it early.
