Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
Before paying for any treatment, make sure the insects really are wasps. Here is how to tell, what to do about bees and what the £120 price covers.
Glass is the best barrier between you and a wasp colony, and a window with a clear view of the roofline or wall can tell you most of what you need to know.
A wasp nest does not vanish on the first cool day of September, and a wall colony can stay busy and short-tempered well into autumn.
In a compact garden every shrub is close to the back door, so a wasp nest in a bush brings the problem right to your seating area.
Bins, compost heaps and recycling boxes draw wasps in numbers, and following their line back often leads to a nest that is still small enough to treat calmly.
