Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
When the nest sits near the door you use every day, the real challenge is living around it for a few days without a sting.
A few wasps near the wall after the technician has gone is common and does not mean the visit failed, but there are signs worth watching.
A nest right next to a route people use every day, like a gate, bin store or front step, turns a small hazard into a daily one.
Shop-bought sprays and home remedies tempt many householders, but the safest and simplest route is to leave a nest alone and have it treated early.
As summer wears on, wasps become far more noticeable around food, drink and open windows, and it helps to understand why before deciding whether you have a nest to deal with.
