Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
A windy night can loosen a tile or lift a board, and a small new gap can be enough for a wasp to move in. Here is what to check and what to avoid.
A nest that seems quiet on a damp morning may be buzzing by afternoon, so knowing how conditions change the signs stops you being falsely reassured.
A nest in a loft raises practical questions about the hatch, the tenant’s boxes and who is allowed up there, long before it raises the question of treatment.
One busy hedge can hide two or three separate nests, and finding them together is better than treating one and discovering another next week.
Much of the time a treatment takes is spent reaching the nest; this guide shows how to prepare gates, ladders, vehicles and pets so the technician can get straight on.
