Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
The treatment is one visit, but the nest and a few stray wasps may still be there afterwards. Here is what to expect and ask about.
Light fittings and cable holes give wasps an easy route out of a loft, so a wasp at a downlight usually means a nest in the roof space above.
You do not need a calendar to know where you are in the wasp year, because the signs around the house change in a predictable order.
Beds and banks are loosely packed with hollows, roots and old burrows, and a queen can use any of them, so it pays to know where to look.
Bird boxes, planters and garden decorations are easy to overlook, but a wasp nest in one is awkward to move and best dealt with while small.
