Guides on finding, understanding and dealing with wasp nests.
A second home or an empty house can grow a nest unnoticed, and arranging treatment without being there takes a little planning and a clear message.
The spots you use most, from the patio table to the washing line, are the ones where a nest nearby causes the most trouble, and the ones worth checking first.
Marquees, field events and outdoor catering put sweet food and crowds together in open ground, so a nest on the site has to be found well before the gates open.
Wasps that live inside a wall cavity are hidden from view, so the first signs are small and easy to dismiss, but the risk can grow quickly.
Porches, conservatories and window frames sit between inside and outside, and the gaps around them are among the easiest routes for a queen to find in spring.
“I tried dealing with a nest in our garden shed myself – big mistake! These guys came out the next day and did a proper treatment. No more wasps and total peace of mind. Great local company with excellent customer care”
